A burn ban is now in effect for Ottawa.

Ottawa Fire Services, in announcing the ban in a Sunday news release, said all open-air fires are prohibited, including on properties that have an open air fire permit.

It said the ban applies to agricultural burns, brush pile burns and campfires.

“There will be zero tolerance enforcement during the fire ban,” the release stated.

Those with inquiries were asked to call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401) or email 3-1-1.
