Ottawa police have charged a 23-year-old man
following an investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences.
In a release Friday, police said members of the OPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit were “alerted to a report of a minor being exploited by a man located in Ottawa.”
An investigation resulted in the arrest Thursday of Yunseong Kim.
He was charged with making, selling and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, child luring, and extortion.
The ICE Unit believes there could be other victims.
Police said the man used the alias Andy Kim. In addition, police said he used the online usernames:
- X (Twitter): yolotake01 and yolotake02
- PayPal: yolotake
- Discord: just2014
- Instagram: justyou0417
In the release, Ottawa police thanked the Korean National Police and the RCMP National Child Exploitation Crime Centre for investigative support.
Ottawa police did not immediately comment on the suspect’s nationality or the role of the KNP.
