Ottawa man, 52, charged with child sex abuse

A 52-year-old Ottawa man has been arrested and charged following an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service into child sexual abuse and possession of exploitation material offences.

Police said John Gordon was arrested on Friday, Oct. 24, on a search warrant and charged with the possession of “CSAEM.”

Police said the term has replaced “child pornography” as the term most commonly used in legal circles for the pornography-related offences.

There was no information available regarding the alleged victim.

Police said “investigators are concerned that there may be other victims due to Gordon’s involvement in the community.”

No further information was available on Gordon’s background.

The investigation is continuing, police said.

Police said there was no information yet on further court appearances.
