Ottawa police seek witnesses to dramatic Hwy 174 crash

Ottawa police are seeking possible witnesses to a dramatic multi-vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 174, east of Trim Road.

In a release, police said the crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. when a white Audi travelling westbound at a high rate of speed went out of control.

The vehicle hit a guardrail, crossed into the eastbound lanes, but continued driving westbound.

The Audi struck two other vehicles, a grey SUV and a blue pickup truck, causing both to enter the ditch.

The drivers of the SUV and pickup truck sustained injuries. One remains in hospital with critical injuries, while the other suffered minor injuries.

The Audi driver, 31, has been charged with dangerous and impaired driving.

Police would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
