Ottawa police seeking woman in aggravated assault investigation

The Ottawa Police Service said Wednesday afternoon it was looking for a 39-year-old woman in connection with the investigation into an aggravated assault earlier in the day.

There are grounds to arrest Mary Davis for aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, an Oct. 29 news release said.

It added that officers had been called to Lanark Avenue near Churchill Avenue for reports of an assault at about 4:15 a.m.

Davis was described as Black, standing five feet four inches tall with dark eyes and long, braided hair. Police said they believed she remained in Ottawa with her two children.

Anyone seeing Davis was asked to call 911 immediately. Those with information about her whereabouts or the incident early Wednesday were asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Central Investigations Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5166.
