The Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect following a home invasion and carjacking that took place at about 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 on Howden Avenue.
The suspect was described as Black, and at the time of the incidents he was wearing glasses, a black puffer coat and dark pants and shoes, police said in a news release Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect was asked to contact the OPS Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116. Investigators would also like to speak with anyone who may have security camera or doorbell footage from the area.
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.

Police said the Robbery Unit investigation continues.
In a release a day after the incidents, police had said they were seeking four suspects in connection with an alleged home invasion that was followed by a carjacking in the city’s west end.
They said four men carrying firearms and falsely identifying themselves as police officers forced their way into a rooming house, confronting “multiple occupants”.
After leaving the home invasion site, the suspects were involved in a carjacking “at a separate location”, police said.
Investigators believed “the residence may not have been the intended target,” police said on Feb. 15.
There were no injuries reported in either incident.
In the original release, police reminded people to “to keep vehicles locked at all times, including when seated inside.”
