Ottawa rock club Brass Monkey closed after 15 years

Ruffo and his team took over the Brass Monkey in 2015 after five years under previous ownership. They helped sharpen the programming focus on heavier rock acts, booking shows by the likes of Uriah Heep, Supersuckers, Buckcherry and Hippie Death Cult. In 2024, the bar earned the Capital Music Award for live venue of the year, an accolade determined by public voting.
