An overnight dump of snow continued into the morning, with a snowfall warning remaining in effect Monday morning.
The snow is expected to taper off before noon. But winds reaching 50 km/h meant blowing snow in some parts of the city.
Overnight, 9 cm of snow fell and another 15 cm or so was expected to fall by the time the snow finishes.
School buses were running within Ottawa, but outside the city the agency that operates buses cancelled service for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and the Upper Canada District School Board. Schools remained open.
