A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning after being hit by a truck on Smyth Road, Ottawa paramedics said.
The crash occurred just after 10 a.m.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service said the victim, who was an adult, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
No further details were released pending notification of the victim’s family.
Westbound Smyth Road was closed near Russell Road as police investigate.
The closure could last several hours.
