A 34-year-old man who is among Canada’s most wanted fugitives is in custody facing two murder charges in connection with a triple shooting in Etobicoke three years ago.
Police say just before 9 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2022, they were called to 150 Thirtieth St. in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Browns Line area following reports of gunshots.
When they arrived they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds and a woman nearby suffering from unspecified injuries.
The two men were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. They were identified as 24-year-old Minyali Wur and 20-year-old Chudier Reat, both of Mississauga.
The woman, who was not identified, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Police say on Wednesday, with the assistance of the Windsor Police Service, they arrested 34-year-old Phillip Grant. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two weapons offences.
Grant was No. 5 on Canada’s Most Wanted List with a $50,000 reward available for information leading to his arrest.
