Police look to identify person of interest in shooting death of animal

Police in Peel Region have released photos of a person of interest in a shooting that occurred earlier this spring in Brampton.

Investigators say the incident occurred on May 5, 2024, in the Mill Street North and Railroad Street area and involved “the discharge of a firearm and unnecessary suffering and death of an animal.”

Police tell CityNews the animal in question was a dog but provided no further details.

Anyone with information that might lead investigators to identify the individual is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
