The Ottawa police arson squad has taken over the investigation of another suspicious fire at a magic mushroom dispensary on Rideau Street.
In a release, police said officers were called to the shop on Rideau Street near Dalhousie Street at 3:16 a.m. Thursday on reports of a fire.
The fire was already out by the time emergency responders arrived on scene.
“The fire was deemed suspicious and the (police arson and explosion unit) is investigating,” police said in the release.
The cause of the fire was unknown as of Thursday afternoon. Ottawa Fire Services investigators will be assisting police, OFS said.
Thursday’s fire follows fires at other mushroom shops on
                         
Bank Street
, Preston Street and on Rideau Street
across the road from the site of Thursday’s fire.
A Sept. 8 fire on Rideau Street involved an SUV that crashed into the front of the store and caught fire.
There were no reported injuries in those fires.
