The Ottawa police asked for the public’s help Saturday as they continue to
investigate a shooting Friday near Lansdowne Park

Police responded at about 4:20 p.m. after reports of gunshots, and, upon arrival in the area, they found evidence that shots had been fired, they said in a news release.
There were no reports of injuries and no one had been arrested as of Saturday afternoon.
Anyone with information, or cellphone, CCTV or dashcam footage was asked to call the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5050. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at crimestoppers.ca.
Friday evening, police had confirmed that the incident was “at or around” the YOWFest music festival. Event organizers announced Friday that the entire two-day event had been cancelled as a result of the shooting.
“The safety of our attendees, staff and community is our highest priority,” YOWFest said in a post Friday evening on Instagram. “The event team, in coordination with Toersa and local law enforcement, responded swiftly and professionally, activating emergency protocols including shelter-in-place procedures. Their efforts ensured the situation was quickly brought under control.”
According to the TD Place website, YowFest is a multicultural music festival celebrating the diverse linguistic and artistic tapestry of Canada and “serves as a platform for Canadian artists, both English and French-speaking, as well as international artists from various backgrounds.”
