Seven arrested in Pembroke drug sweep

Seven people were arrested in a sweep by provincial police Thursday night at a number of residences on William Street in Pembroke.

Five of the suspects are from Pembroke and two are from Petawawa, police said.

Each individual has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking. Some face additional charges.

Police seized 55 grams of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone tablets and pills, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Four of the accused have been released with a scheduled court date, while three remain in custody.
