A 21-year-old Gatineau man faces a stiff fine, demerit points and his vehicle was seized for 30 days after leading police on an interprovincial chase late Wednesday.
The incident began at the kilometre marker of Autoroute 5 in Gatineau, where Sûreté du Québec highway patrol officers clocked the vehicle travelling at
121 km/h in the 70 km/h zone.
The driver refused to pull over and headed west towards Ottawa.
He was intercepted by police on King Edward Avenue.
The driver received fines totalling $1,098 and was issued 10 demerit points for speeding, refusing to stop for police, and other offences.
The vehicle was seized for 30 days.
