In January, RTG discovered a spalling issue within the cartridge bearing assemblies, which prompted OC Transpo to pull 41 train cars, leaving just 18 in service. According to the transit authority, the 41 train cars were pulled for inspection and repairs related to spalling because they had axles that had exceeded 100,000 kilometres.
