Signal problems have halted subway service on a stretch of the Bloor-Danforth line, sending shivering riders out into frigid temperatures as they await shuttle buses.
The TTC says there’s no service between St. George and Broadview stations, with shuttle buses running.
The timing couldn’t have been worse with the arrival of a polar vortex plunging temperatures into minus double-digits.
Footage from the CityNews helicopter shows crowds of people waiting for buses near Broadview station.
It’s currently around -21 with the wind chill — a reality not lost on frustrated riders.
There’s no word at this point on when full service will resume.
I knew this would happen on the coldest day of the year so far.
