A Gatineau police officer under suspension for a previous charge has been arrested for impaired driving, police said Wednesday.
In a release, police said they were called to a “disturbance” late Monday night.
The Gatineau officer was arrested in his personal vehicle at the scene.
Officers said there were “reasonable indications” the driver was intoxicated. To ensure impartiality, the man was transferred to a Súreté du Québec station for testing.
Tests indicated the driver was above the 80 mg limit of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
He was charged with impaired driving and released on a promise to appear in court.
The officer was not identified and the previous charge was not released.
