Technical issues forced American Airlines to issue a nationwide ground stop in the U.S. on Christmas Eve, but it has been lifted.
The airline requested a ground stop from the Federal Aviation Authority early this morning and it was in place until around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
In social media posts, American Airlines said they are experiencing a technical issue with all flights.
Currently at Toronto Pearson International Airport, at least five American Airlines flights have reportedly been delayed.
The groundings couldn’t come at a worse time for the millions of travelers expected to fly over the next 10 days.
The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen 40 million passengers over the holidays and through January 2.
