Teen girl among 3 injured in Parkdale fire

Three people are in hospital, including a 16-year-old girl, following a fire in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood.

First responders were called to the Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue residence just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The fire was quickly contained, and three people were assessed with injuries.

Toronto police tell CityNews that an adult male, an 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old girl were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The man’s injuries are considered serious, while the 18-year-old and 16-year-old suffered minor injuries, police said.

It’s believed the fire started in the basement. The Ontario Fire Marshal will attend the scene to investigate and determine the fire’s cause.

Laxton Avenue was closed for the investigation.
