A new report says Rogers and Telus have Canada’s most reliable and consistent mobile networks, while Bell maintains the best 5G download speeds of the major carriers.
The annual study by Opensignal, which collected data from October to December of last year, graded the Big 3 providers across a variety of categories measuring customers’ cellular connectivity experiences.
This year’s edition says Rogers and Telus tied for reliability and consistency, which measure users’ ability to connect to and successfully complete basic tasks on a network.
Bell ranked first for 5G download speed, while it tied with Telus for the top spot in overall download speed.
The report also touts upload speeds experienced by customers with Rogers, along with the company’s 5G availability, which is based on the percentage of time users can detect a 5G signal on their cellphone.
Opensignal principal analyst Fiona Armstrong-Mills, who authored the report, says the findings show “there is intense competition for the top spots” across most metrics, with two or more operators finishing tied for the lead in eight of 15 categories.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Feb. 26, 2026.
