The Toronto area saw the average home price drop for the seventh consecutive year-over-year decline with detached homes plummeting 10 per cent, as buyers continued to benefit from increased choice and negotiating power in August.

Last month, the average price was down 5.2 per cent compared to the same time last year, reaching $1.02 million — and remained flat compared to July, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board’s (TRREB) Thursday report.
