Ever wondered what a Toronto-inspired latte would taste like?
Tim Hortons customers in South Korea are finding out for themselves as Toronto lattes became available for purchase across the country in late October.
Described as a red velvet-flavoured latte made with ground praline pecans, the decadent drink aims to capture the essence of autumn in Toronto, according to a post from Tim Hortons Korea on X.
The coffee’s flavour profile is defined as nutty and chocolaty, balanced with a smooth and creamy sweetness.
The drink is topped off with maple leaf latte art made from white chocolate, sealing its identity as a beverage with Canadian influence.
To promote this unique latte, Tim Hortons Korea uses imagery from Toronto as the leaves change, including shots of the CN Tower, a distant street view of Sankofa Square and a picture of the Queen streetcar.
Tim Hortons first expanded into South Korea in 2023, with its first location in Seoul, the country’s capital.
The Canadian coffee giant plans to have over 150 Tim Hortons locations in Korea by 2028, a spokesperson previously told the Star.
Including the Toronto latte, other drinks inspired by Canadian cities can be found at Tim Hortons locations in South Korea.
The menu features a Montreal Latte made with French vanilla cream and toffee nut, in addition to an espresso and green tea latte influenced by Vancouver.
