A Toronto police officer was sent to a hospital after coming into contact with a toxic drug, possibly fentanyl, during an assault call in midtown Toronto.
The officer attended the Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East area at around 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police said naloxone (Narcan) was administered, and the officer was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second person was taken to a hospital.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
Naloxone is a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses and is commonly administered through a nasal spray or an injection.
