The TTC is changing the way passengers access Union Station on New Year’s Eve.

To enter the station, the TTC advises people to enter through the Brookfield Place doors on Bay Street, south of Front Street.

If the station becomes overcrowded, people may be required to line up on Bay Street outside before entering the building.

The TTC says the change is intended to “reduce the crowding and congestion seen in the two previous years” and “supports a City of Toronto initiative to improve safety at Union Station by restricting access to the interior.”

The TTC suggests that people use other stations nearby if they are attending New Year’s Eve celebrations along the waterfront. Those stations on Line 1 are St. Andrew, Osgoode, King and Queen.

The TTC is free between 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The GO train and UP Express are also free. See the details here.
