Residents in North York, Etobicoke and Scarborough will have more options for hopping on a TTC bus starting Sunday, March 30, with service increases on 14 routes announced on Tuesday.

“Torontonians deserve better, more frequent transit, and that’s exactly what our investments are delivering,” Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said during a new conference Tuesday morning.

“Our historic TTC investment in Budget 2025 is funding more frequent, reliable, and affordable public transit that connects Torontonians to schools, jobs, and each other.”

Among the service increases:

  • Saturday afternoon bus services will be increased to match weekday service levels at Steeles Ave. W. and Weston Rd.
  • Buses will arrive every two minutes connecting customers along the northwest corridor with Finch Station on Line 1, through Etobicoke to Kipling Station on Line 2. This change improves the current Saturday afternoon service frequency of every three to four minutes at Steeles and Weston on 60 Steeles West, 165 Weston Rd. North, and 960 Steeles West Express routes.
  • From March 30 there will be 26 more buses on the road on Saturday afternoons, bringing over 1,100 buses. Many of these will be on the Steeles Ave. W. and Wilson Ave. corridors.

“We are investing more than ever in the TTC to increase service, strengthen connections, and improve reliability,” said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers.

“These service increases and improvements are about getting the basics right for our customers – providing more frequent and reliable transit in peak and off-peak times that better connects people to jobs, education, and key retail destinations.”
