Ottawa police say two people have been charged in connection with the June 1 shooting on Ashwick Court in Nepean.
The arrests on June 11 followed an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service guns and gangs unit.
In a release, police said the two Ottawa residents were charged with several violent and firearms-related criminal code offences.
Both are being held in custody, and the investigation is continuing.
Police released no further information Friday afternoon.
The June 1 shooting near Craig Henry Drive left the victim with serious, non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was hospitalized.
The shooting followed an “altercation,” Ottawa police spokesperson Julie Kavanagh said.
The suspect got out of a vehicle and shot the victim.
“This is believed to be a targeted incident,” Kavanagh said at the time.
Investigators would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation and assistance during the investigation.
Community support played an important role in moving the case forward.
Anyone with information related to this incident or other firearm-related activity is asked to contact the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050.
