Ottawa police reined in two young drivers on learner’s permits on Tuesday for speeding-related offences.
The force’s Traffic Escort Unit caught a 22-year-old doing 56 km/h over the posted 80 km/h limit in his parents’ vehicle on Limebank Road.
The driver was charged with stunt driving. His G1 license was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.
During Tuesday’s morning rush hour, a 19-year-old G1 driver, not accompanied as required by law, was stopped for doing 107 km/h in the posted 60km/h zone along River Road.
The driver faces a stunt-driving charge, the license was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded. A court date has been set.
