Two Ottawa youths face several charges after a traffic stop Monday near McArthur Road and Rue de l’Eglise in the city’s east end.
The Vanier-Overbrook neighbourhood resource team conducted the stop.
A search of the vehicle turned up the firearm, police said.
The occupants, two boys aged 16 and 17, were immediately arrested.
“After their arrest, a significant quantity of crack cocaine was located on one of the suspects,” Ottawa police said in an email.
Both received multiple firearm and drug-related charges, and were charged with failing to comply with previously imposed Youth Criminal Justice Act conditions.
Neither suspect can be named under the Act.
