Investigators with the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) are searching for a suspect or suspects after two shootings occurred minutes apart in a residential neighbourhood in Ajax.

DRPS say the first shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday near Salem and Taunton roads, followed by a second shooting a few minutes later — in the same residential area.

According to police, they believe the same suspect or suspects are responsible for both shootings as they occurred within a kilometre of each other.

So far, no suspect description has been provided, but the police say a white Honda SUV was seen fleeing the area.

Police say the shootings happened outside, and no injuries have been reported.
