An investigation continues into a fire Friday in La Pêche township that claimed the life of a man.
A passerby spotted a home in flames early Friday at 655 Parent Rd.
The La Pêche municipal fire department was dispatched. Firefighters alerted MRC des Collines de l’Outaouais police that one person was missing in the residence.
Investigators and a Sûreté du Québec dog handler were dispatched to the scene.
A body was found in the rubble of the building at about 2 p.m.
The victim has not yet been positively identified.
The regional coroner has ordered an autopsy on the victim.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
La Pêche is about 45 kilometres north of Ottawa.
