Weather: Freezing drizzle warning for capital Sunday

Environment Canada issued a “yellow” warning Sunday morning, advising that freezing drizzle is headed for the capital.

The agency cautioned that freezing drizzle with light ice build-up making surfaces icy and slippery” was expected through the day.

Extra caution was advised while driving or walking as icy-covered surfaces can be difficult to detect.

The organization says those walking or driving should be extra cautious, as icy surfaces can be difficult to detect.

The temperature is expected to hit a high of 0 C Sunday, with winds out of the east of 20 km/h gusting to 40, making the temperature feel like -8 in the afternoon.

Sunday night is expected to be cloudy, with a low of -6 C, feeling like -13 in the wind overnight.

Skies are expected to clear at around noon Monday, with a high of 2 C.
