After a bit of back and forth through the day, Environment Canada has issued a new caution warning that the Ottawa region can look forward to accumulating snow on Sunday.
In mid-afternoon, the agency forecast accumulation from three cm to 15 cm of the white stuff Sunday.
The precipitation is expected to begin Sunday morning and last until Sunday night.
The agency said a low-pressure system is responsible for the precipitation.
But “confidence remains low with respect to the strength and track of this weather system, and as such the areas affected and snowfall amounts may change,” Environment Canada says.
Further warnings may be required.
Motorists should adjust travel plans and expect transportation delays.
Drivers are strongly urged to have their winter tires installed prior to Sunday.
Drivers should also monitor special alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
