Provincial police have charged a man in Westport, about 115 km southwest of Ottawa, with a list of offences following a case of “intimate partner violence.”
In a release Saturday, the Leeds County OPP detachment reported officers were called on Nov. 25 to a residence where a male suspect had refused to leave.
Following an investigation, the OPP said the man was charged with assault; three counts of break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence; mischief (destroy or damage property); criminal harassment; and other charges.
The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing in Brockville court. Police are not identifying the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
