A woman and three horses have died following a single-vehicle collision on Wednesday night outside of Renfrew.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Highway 132 near Hass Road at around 9:30 p.m. after an SUV collided with horses that were reportedly loose on the road.
A 39-year-old woman from Arnprior was pronounced dead at the scene and three horses are also deceased, police said.
The collision remains under investigation by the Renfrew detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
“The OPP recognizes the emotional impact this incident has on the local community,” the news release stated.
