Woman, 48, listed as missing person by Ottawa police

The Ottawa Police Service on Tuesday requested public assistance in locating a 48-year-old woman who was reportedly last seen in the Rideau Street area three days earlier.

A police media release on Jan. 13 described Lysia Kautainuk as an Inuit woman standing five feet tall with a thin build, long black hair and dark brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a grey winter jacket with a black fur hood, black winter snow pants, an orange “Every Child Matters” tuque, and glasses with a black frame, the release added.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222, extension 7300. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or online at crimestoppers.ca.
