Woman in 20s dead, man charged with impaired driving in truck rollover near Richmond

A man has been charged in relation to a fatal pick-up truck rollover near Richmond on Friday, police said.

According to a Saturday morning news release, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Garvin Road near Richmond at around 3:40 p.m. on Friday.

Police said a pick-up truck “left the roadway” with two people inside the vehicle. The passenger, a woman in her 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, a man in his 20s, had minor injuries, police said.

Officers are still investigating the fatal incident.

Brian Laplante, 25, was charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving causing death in relation to the incident.
