A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after her legs were trapped under an OC Transpo bus on Monday, Ottawa paramedics said.
Nicolas Guertin, acting superintendent of communications for the Ottawa Paramedics Service, said first responders were called to the intersection of Elgin Street and Gladstone Avenue for a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a bus.
When they arrived, they found a woman with her legs trapped under the wheels of the bus. She was freed by firefighters and was then transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Ottawa police closed Elgin Street between Gladstone Avenue and Frank Street for several hours while they investigated the incident.
The Ottawa Citizen has reached out to OC Transpo with a request for comment.
