On Nov. 7 Writers’ Trust of Canada held its 2024 Storytellers Ball at Toronto’s Park Hyatt. Its theme: the Great Romantics. The event saw 340 people, including more than 40 authors, gathering to raise $350,000. Guests included leaders in literature and the arts, business and philanthropy. “We need the voices of writers to be supported,” said Writers’ Trust executive director David Leonard. “The proceeds of Storytellers Ball allow us to provide the cash, connection and community-building that writers need to make their abundant contributions to Canadian culture.”
