Youth facing barriers when they want to quit vaping, CHEO psychiatrist says

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute developed the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation, an evidence-based, institutional program created to systematically identify, treat and follow up with patients who smoked, in 2002. It has resulted in high long-term quit rates and is now used around the world. The model is now being used in some health centres in Canada’s North, where smoking rates are significantly higher than in the rest of the country.
