MONTREAL – AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. and Nvidia are looking into integrating the chipmaker’s technologies with the development of nuclear-powered AI factories.
The Montreal-based company says the technologies could help provide a framework to design digital versions of the infrastructure before building in the real world.
AtkinsRéalis CEO Ian Edwards says his company brings engineering expertise across complex infrastructure and a history of excellence in the nuclear industry to the collaboration.
The company says the announcement comes as global AI infrastructure demand is outpacing available power supply.
After AtkinsRéalis reported earnings for the fourth quarter last month, Edwards highlighted that artificial intelligence marks a key path to expansion and efficiency for the company.
In its latest quarter, AtkinsRéalis reported an 81 per cent year-over-year leap in profits to $95 million.
