Ottawa police seek to ID suspect after break and enter at Elgin Street restaurant

The Ottawa police are asking for help from the public as they attempt to identify a suspect following a break and enter at an Elgin Street restaurant.

In the early morning hours of Feb. 19, an individual entered the business in the 300 block of Elgin and stole personal items from the kitchen and staff room before leaving, police said in a news release on Monday, March 16.

The person, described as white and between 25 and 35 years old, was seen wearing a black baseball cap, a dark jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes, and was also seen wearing a winter coat he stole from the staff room, police said.

The West Break and Enter Unit is investigating, and anyone with information that could help police or identify the suspect was asked to contact the Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 4533. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca .
