The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to the big screen in Canada.
With the kickoff of the international soccer tournament now less than a month away, Cineplex announced Friday that it has partnered with TSN to broadcast select World Cup matches.
The screenings will take place at 42 theatres across the country, with more than 20 locations in Ontario including at cinemas in Toronto, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Brampton and Ajax.
Tickets went on sale Friday afternoon and are priced at $9.99 before tax at participating theatres’ box offices, with an additional $1.50 online booking fee for purchases made through Cineplex’s website or app.
Fans attending the screenings will be able to load up on classic movie concessions, including popcorn and fountain drinks. Alcoholic beverages will also be available at participating locations where permitted under provincial liquor laws.
Cineplex said tickets will roll out in phases, starting with select group-stage matches. Additional games will become available closer to each match day.
Sixteen cities in the U.S., Mexico and Canada are co-hosting the World Cup. The tournament will kick off June 11 with a game in Mexico City.
Toronto will host six World Cup games, including Canada’s opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium on June 12. The city’s final match will be on July 2.
All 104 tournament matches will be available on TSN and RDS, FIFA’s exclusive Canadian streamer and broadcaster, with games also available to watch on CTV and streaming on Crave.
