Why the Belltown Dome is forcing Ottawa to confront a much bigger problem

Opened in 1979, the Belltown Dome has long served as a neighbourhood recreation centre, hosting hockey, skating and community events. While the dome continues to host ball hockey and other recreational activities, the loss of its ice surface has reduced the number of rinks in west Ottawa at a time when local organizations say demand for ice time continues to grow.
