OC Transpo says all O-Train Line 1 stations and platforms between St-Laurent and Blair stations are open after the service finalized inspection and repair of the system’s damaged overhead wires.
“Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) has successfully completed repairs to the damaged components of the OCS and conducted final inspections,” read a memo from Rick Leary, general manager of the City’s Transit Services Department.
“For customers, this means that all Line 1 stations and platforms from St-Laurent to Blair are now open.”
The disruption started at approximately 9:50 a.m. Thursday when a train on Line 1 came to a complete stop at Cyrville Station due to damaged overhead wiring between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations.
Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) technicians were deployed to repair the damage and conduct inspections Thursday, according to Leary. While officials were hoping repairs would be completed by Friday morning, repair crews found additional damage to the overhead wiring system.
OC Transpo says its customers have been updated through all communication channels, including octranspo.com and on social media.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience while we worked to safely restore service across the system.”
