Arnprior resident, 40, charged with attempted murder

A 40-year-old Arnprior resident is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after an incident Tuesday.

On July 21 at about 8:15 p.m., officers from the Renfrew OPP detachment responded to a weapons call in Arnprior, and after arriving at the scene found one person with serious injuries, police said in a news release.

No other details were provided about the person’s injuries or the incident.

The accused was charged with attempted murder; uttering threats — cause death of bodily harm; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; aggravated assault; and assault with a weapon.

The investigation continues with assistance from the Renfrew Crime Unit, police said.
