A teenager was taken to hospital after a Beaverwood Road shooting incident on Monday morning, but their injuries were not caused by a bullet.
The Ottawa Police Service, in a social media post on Aug. 10, said officers responded to the 1100 block of Beaverwood at about 10:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired in the area.
The shots were fired outside a financial institution, but the incident was not related to the business, police said.
While no one was shot, an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson said one person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The teen had suffered blunt force trauma and was in stable condition, the spokesperson said.
One person was taken into custody, police said, adding that there is no risk to public safety.
