The National Ballet of Canada held its annual fundraising gala, Mad Hot Ballet: Reverie, on June 2, which lit up the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts with a one-hour performance of excerpts and short works by the company’s dancers and artistic staff. Following the performances, a reception took place in the lobby and an enchanting dinner was held on stage for VIPs. Notable guests included “Heated Rivalry” star Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova and Canadian Olympians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. The event raised more than $1.1 million in support of the National Ballet’s Community Engagement programs, contributing to the $17 million generated since the initiative’s launch in 2007.
