At my first Art Hang, the artsy Gen Z set rubbed shoulders with a handful of veteran music fans who follow Ottawa’s vibrant jazz scene. At the next table, for example, was a 23-year-old from Ukraine who painted a lovely watercolour of three swallows, representing peace, and a young woman from Thunder Bay who was crocheting herself a sweater. But the third person there was a gentleman in his 60s who confessed to his love of jazz, and then replicated the logo of the band — Primary Colours — in red, yellow and blue.
