Carney government asks court to quash lawsuit over projected missed emission targets

OTTAWA – The federal government is asking a Federal Court judge to toss out a lawsuit accusing Ottawa of having no intention of meeting its 2030 greenhouse gas emissions target.

In recent court filings, government lawyers argued the Federal Court doesn’t have the power to order the government to take steps to meet its emissions targets.
